How would I remove spray paint from my car's finish w/out harming the factory paint? cheap?

Hi, Well first off you for sure do not want to use anything like Gas/ WD-40/Nail polish remover or whatnot, as that will only do more harm than good.

What i recomend and have used in the past for simmilar situations is a can of Bug and Tar remover that you can get at your local auto parts store.

Good thing about that is It was formulated not to damage your cars paint finish while at the same time abrasive removing things such as tar or spray paint overspray. trust me it works! good luck! How would I remove spray paint from my car's finish w/out harming the factory paint? cheap?
you want it cheap and easy? ok, if you have factory paint or paint that is at least a year old, get two rags, wet one with lacquer thinner and it will wipe the spray paint right off. then quickly wipe it dry with the other rag. after you get it all off, wax it and you'll be fine. if you don't wanna do that you can try to buff it off but it will take a lot longer. by the way, i've been painting cars since 1983. been there. How would I remove spray paint from my car's finish w/out harming the factory paint? cheap?
Best Thing I would do is go to Maaco and pay $249 for new paint job
Go to your local auto store and buy the mildest paint buffing compound (Quires or Mothers) probably in a bottle like a liquid wax and lightly with many applications rub off the spray paint.

Spray paint is not baked on like the original paint and it air dries much softer, so rubbing it off with a made for paint buffing compound will take it off and not hurt your factory paint.

Also, call your local auto paint supplier (in the yellow pages) for their advice. They may have product especially for removing spray paint.

It's not as tough as it would seem if it's just a few areas like from a kid, or vandalism, and not the whole car.

Repaint is your last choice.
