I have sheet rock that came from the factory with paper on it and paint will not stick to it what can i do?

When i paint the paint just peels off in sheets. or if i put something up against it if peels off on whatever was there.I have sheet rock that came from the factory with paper on it and paint will not stick to it what can i do?
What kind of paper are you talking about? I've installed a lot of drywall, and have never seen anything on it besides the standard face paper. It seems that you may have a problem with the paint. Did you prime first? Are you using latex or oil? Feel free to e-mail me if you like, and I will try to help. Good luck.I have sheet rock that came from the factory with paper on it and paint will not stick to it what can i do?
I've never had a problem like that, and the paper is necessary to hold the drywall (sheet rock) together, so you can't remove that. You might have a problem with your paint, but no matter what, you need to use a primer first. That will create a better bond between the drywall and the final paint, and help hide any imperfections.
Did you buy normal sheetrock or special sheetrock for under tile or ?????? Did you get the proper side of the sheetrock to the room side? There is a proper side to put on the room side (the side with the flanges for the tape and mud). The back side might not take paint well.

Is the house you are working on heated? If the paint freezes before it dries, it will come off.

Forget all those telling you that you need to prime first, I built my house and rather than prime, I used the same color paint as a first and second coat. The paint was the same price as the primer and if I missed a spot the second time over, it was already the right color. Paint is a different color wet, so there isn't any problem seeing where you have been with the first coat. Good luck.
I have never heard of sheet rock doing that. Did you wipe it down to make sure all of the dust is off of it before you painted it? It could also be your paint. There is some paints out there that are junk. You could try a different brand of paint.
Did you use some kind of silicone caulking on it or something?

Paint won't adhere to some sealers and caulking.

It'll ';puddle'; and peel off when it dries.
put a high quality primer on it and use a quality latex paint.
All sheet rock has paper on it. Use a primer, that's what it's for.
