Remove factory paint?

i have some small shocks springs that are painted black from the factory. i want to remove the paint so that they show up silver metal. should i soak the small springs in paint thinner to remove the paint? will i have to scrub also?Remove factory paint?
Don't know about paint thinner, but there are some stronger chemicals out there. You're definitely going to have to sand it by hand too since it's going to be a little too tight to get a sander in between the coils. You'll also need to seal or re-paint your springs. I see what you're going for, but if they're left unprotected, they'll get useless pretty quick. I think they sell a clear-coat spray paint...maybe it's Duplicolor.Remove factory paint?
I would first use some spray paint stripper, then clean and dry your coils prior to repaint. Do not leave the springs unpainted since they will soon rust.
